My Creative Journey
I’ve always been a maker at heart. My creative journey began in my home city, Hong Kong 🇭🇰, where I explored multimedia—from animation and photography to motion graphics and visual effects. Those early explorations built a strong visual foundation that still informs how I approach user interface design and visual storytelling.
My first role was as a digital storyteller, but when the consultancy’s business direction unexpectedly shifted, I gradually transitioned into UX/UI role in early 2014. It wasn’t a planned move, but I’m incredibly grateful for it—it opened up a new way of thinking about design—not just as a visual craft, but as a way to solve real problems, uncover user needs, and create impact. That shift marked the beginning of a career I’ve been deeply committed to ever since.
Early in my career, I worked on interactive learning experiences for toddlers and young children, including a digital adaptation of The World of Eric Carle storybook series and the British Council’s Playtime app, an English learning tool. Designing for a young audience reinforced the idea that empathy isn’t just a principle—it has to be practiced through every design decision.
More recently, I’ve been working in the fintech sector, designing secure, scalable experiences in fast-paced, high-compliance environments. But my “maker heart” hasn’t changed—I care deeply about creating experiences that help people achieve their goals and improve their everyday lives.

Turning Points That Shaped Me
Looking back on my journey as a product designer, I’ve never taken the easy path. There have been moments of uncertainty and self-doubt, but I’m proud that I’ve always had the courage to make bold moves and follow my instincts.
Around 2015, I felt something was missing in how I approached UI design, so I decided to formally study fine art alongside my full-time job to sharpen my eye and deepen my visual skills.
In 2019, I felt the need to reconnect with the world beyond the screen, so I spent a year in Japan 🇯🇵 on a working holiday. That life experience taught me to be more observant, and open-minded—qualities that continue to influence how I design and help me connect with practitioners from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.
Then in 2022, my heart called me again. I moved to London 🇬🇧 to pursue a Master’s in Human-Computer Interaction Design, with the goal of strengthening my user research skills and refreshing my design practice in a new environment.
Now in 2025, I’m based in Canada 🇨🇦, where I’ve recently relocated and plan to stay long-term. I’m currently open to Product Design or User Research opportunities where I can apply my global perspective, user-first mindset, and a design approach grounded in empathy, research, and collaborative problem-solving—and I’m looking to join teams that lead with purpose, design with clarity, and stay curious.
